Korra Del Rio stands there letting the stylist dab on the last bits of wedding makeup. She looks great. Too great really, like a cover shoot that shouldn’t be allowed. Lola Fae shows up, camera already in hand, and has to work not to gawk. Korra catches it anyway. She’s confused though, asking why Lola isn’t the guy they booked. Lola shrugs, says the original photographer bailed and they’ll do the job right. Then the shutter starts clicking. Korra in satin, backlit, framed tight, every angle. Heat creeps in the spaces between each shot. Lola tries to stay behind the lens, but when they mention the husband-to-be, Korra steps back fast. “What’s wrong?” Lola asks. Korra’s answer lands blunt: right now the only thing she wants on her mind is Lola. After that the room feels smaller. Clothes start moving, careful touches turn greedy, lips collide, the camera ends up on a chair while the dress ends up in a heap and neither of them cares who sees the pictures later.
