Making Their Own Heat

Shalina Devine and Emmanuel Torquemada sat shivering in their apartment, teeth clacking while the busted radiator wheezed cold air. The landlord swore he'd swing by tomorrow. Great. They dragged the only extra blanket over their laps and huddled close. It cut the worst of the chill but left plenty of goose bumps. Shalina turned her back and pressed against him, little-spoon style. Emmanuel's arm locked around her ribs and finally, finally, a sliver of warmth crept in. Then Shalina had a bright little thought. "Hey," she murmured, hips rocking back just enough to make the blanket tent, "I bet there's one sure-fire way to crank the thermostat to sex." Emmanuel laughed against her neck, teeth brushing her skin. The blanket slipped. Neither bothered to pull it up.
