Beth and Frank roll up to the empty ranch on their second anniversary, still nursing an old crack in their marriage. The sun's dropping, no staff in sight, no other guests, nothing. They shrug, split up, hunt for bodies. Beth feels eyes on her back in the trees, but shakes it off. They meet again on the porch with zip. Frank wants to stay anyway. Night falls. A car door slams and the mood flips: meet Tommy and his wife Olivia. Their wheels crapped out on the way, they say, and no help showed. Four's better than two, so Beth and Frank play host. Frank leaves with Olivia to tackle the busted car. Tommy and Beth camp out, joke, sip whiskey, and clock how long the errand's taking. They wander toward the scene, and everything lines up wrong fast: fogged glass, yelps, a surprise Beth didn't sign up for. She sees Frank's bare ass bouncing in the back seat and her stomach flips. Beth whips around, boots snapping across gravel. In their suite she crumbles. Frank made the same promise the first time, and her ears still burn. Tommy slips in, shakes his head. ‘Karma drop on them would feel downright cozy,’ he mutters. A crooked grin starts on Beth's face. She chews the thought, looks Tommy over, and wonders how much the resort really sees right now.
