Cameron got the flyer out of Mrs. Williams's hands and headed for the door, but Leana appeared in front of it like she’d been planning this moment. Mrs. Williams slung her purse over her shoulder and strolled out, leaving the two of them alone. As soon as the car pulled away, Leana tugged Cameron into her bedroom, clothes tossed everywhere and folders spread like she actually needed his help. She kept talking—cheer squad, debate club, anything—until she finally dropped the act and said she wanted him. Cameron chuckled, called it flattering, and turned to go. That’s when Leana pulled her phone out of her bra and showed him the evidence: grainy shots, his hand sliding under another girl’s skirt in an empty classroom. Her smile stayed sweet while she laid it out—he gives her what she’s been daydreaming about or she sends the pictures. Cameron sighed like a man who’s heard worse threats, then closed the door with a quiet click. He stepped toward Leana with a grin that promised more heat than comfort, and she backed up until the edge of the mattress hit her thighs, suddenly wondering if she’d overplayed her hand.
