An Angel On Both Shoulders

Kendra checks the mirror one last time, phone wedged between her shoulder and ear as she snaps a bracelet around her wrist. “Gonna be there in ten,” she purrs. She’s headed straight for her best friend’s wife, and the idea makes her grin like she just won free drinks for life.
She steps into her heels, tosses the phone on the bed, and turns—then freezes. Kimora’s standing in the doorway, radiant as a sunrise and twice as judgmental. The angel clears her throat and points an accusing finger: sleeping with the wife makes Kendra a bad friend and an even worse human. Kendra snorts, scanning the room. “Where’s the other guy?” she asks. “Devil’s supposed to be my ride-or-die on this.”
Anna Claire pops up on the edge of the dresser, halo crooked and wings tucked tight. Turns out she used to be the little red devil on Kendra’s shoulder, but she switched teams because even eternal mischief thinks this plan sucks. Kendra rolls her eyes, tells them both to relax; she’s always dodged trouble before. Kimora’s halo brightens in disbelief. They’re not buying it.
So Kendra smiles that wicked, slow-burn smile, strolls over, and runs a finger down Kimora’s collarbone. “You angels ever loosen up?” The question lands like a lit match. Kimora tries to hold the moral high ground; her wings twitch. Anna Claire groans, swears she’s not falling for it, then watches her own halo tilt sideways when Kendra kisses her neck. Resistance crumbles fast—two angels, one devilish grin, clothes suddenly optional, rules out the window, and none of them seem too worried about the consequences anymore.
